Nancy Faulkner is a senior adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Her teaching history at the school includes Law Clerk Boot Camp, Pre-Trial Litigation, Family Law, and Advanced Appellate Advocacy. She also teaches in the Master of Science in Law program.

  

Professor Faulkner is the deputy state court administrator at the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) for the Maryland Judiciary. Before moving to the AOC, she was the court administrator at the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, where her duties included directing the operations of one of the largest courts in Maryland. Prior to joining the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, she was the director of court operations for the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, where she oversaw the management of daily court functions, including the offices of Case Management, Assignment, Jury, Court Reporters, Drug Treatment Court, Custody Evaluation, and the Law Library. Professor Faulkner helped lead the implementation of Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC), the state’s digital case management system, for both Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties. She currently sits on many committees, subcommittees, and workgroups that help to guide the work of the Maryland Judiciary. 

  

Professor Faulkner is also an experienced attorney having worked with Maryland Legal Aid (formerly, the Legal Aid Bureau). In that capacity, she practiced many areas of the law and worked at the Family Law Self-Help Center. She received her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, and her graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Maryland. She is a National Center for State Courts Institute of Court Management (ICM) graduate.
