National Trial Team

Course Description

The National Trial Team, a two semester course offering, is available only to members of the University of Maryland School of Law National Trial Team. Students compete in Regional and National Trial Competitions sponsored by the American Trial Lawyers Association, The American College of Trial Lawyers and various law schools. Students earn one-credit each semester for participating in the weekly two-hour class, and an additional one credit for each competition in which the student participates, for a maximum of two credits each semester. Members of the team learn advanced litigation skills, techniques and strategies from prominent area trial lawyers and judges. Admission to the National Trial Team is highly competitive. Because of the nature of the tryout process which takes place in the spring semester of the student's first year in law school, this course is not available for transfer students. This course is graded on a Credit/No Credit basis.
