Judge Fletcher-Hill was appointed to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City in February 2009. Immediately before his appointment, he practiced complex civil litigation and chaired the Litigation Practice Group at Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC. From 1990 to 2000, he served in the Civil Division of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, first as an Assistant Attorney General, then as Deputy Chief of the Division, and finally as Chief of Litigation. While in the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Fletcher-Hill argued Wilson v. Layne before the United States Supreme Court.

Judge Fletcher-Hill is a graduate of Princeton University (A.B. 1981) and Yale Law School (J.D. 1984). After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Rya W. Zobel of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and then practiced in Boston, both in private practice and then in the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
