Ashley Ward brings a wealth of practical experience and a passion for legal education to her role as an adjunct professor. With a background deeply rooted in the intricacies of family law and a commitment to community engagement, she enriches the academic environment with her real-world insights and dedication to student success.
She is a graduate of William and Mary Law School and earned an undergraduate degree in Legal Studies with a minor in History from Stevenson University.
After law school, she clerked for Justice Angela Eaves during her tenure as a judge in the Circuit Court for Harford County, after which she began work in private practice. She is currently lead litigator at Cordell & Cordell in Baltimore.
With over a decade of experience in family law, she has dedicated her professional career to championing the rights of her clients in domestic legal matters. Her unwavering commitment to excellence and compassionate representation has earned her recognition as a trusted advocate within the legal community.
Professor Ward firmly believes in the importance of bridging theory with practice in legal education and is committed to equipping her students with the practical expertise and critical thinking skills necessary to excel in their future legal careers.
Outside the classroom, she is active in the Maryland legal community as a member of the Alliance of Black Women Attorneys and the Baltimore City and Harford County bar associations. Through her participation in these organizations, she strives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession.
In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her son, wife, and two beloved cats.
