Leadership Scholars Program
Established in 2004, the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Leadership Scholars Program provides endowed scholarship support and attracts the most promising and highly qualified law school applicants across the nation. To date, the Leadership Scholars Program has provided more than 500 scholarships and drawn students from diverse backgrounds with outstanding accomplishments in academics, professional life, community or public service.
The Leadership Scholars recipients share a common commitment to upholding the highest ideals of the legal profession, and to continue our tradition of service and leadership. We are proud to shape the future careers of these extraordinary students and are dedicated to preparing them not only for careers as skilled legal practitioners, but also for a lifetime of achievement as future leaders in our society.
Maryland Carey Law’s Scholarship Committee selects recipients for the Leadership Scholars Program adhering to the School of Law’s mission and admissions policy. Applicants can be considered through application review, faculty/administrator nomination, and/or interview. The Leadership Scholars Program also includes the Diversity and Inclusion Scholars Initiative and the Dean’s Scholars Program. More details about those programs are included below.
