Barry L. Gogel is a private practitioner with Rifkin Weiner Livingston, LLC, who has taken part in litigation and negotiation of cases leading to tens of millions of dollars in settlement per case. During his career, Prof. Gogel has represented a wide variety of individuals and businesses, ranging from large lending institutions and bankruptcy litigation trusts to professional athletes, sports enterprises, politicians, artists and simple litigants.

Prof. Gogel is a 1997 graduate of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he graduated with top honors, served on the Moot Court Board and the Maryland Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues and earned the Cunningham Award for service to the Law School. Prof. Gogel clerked for Hon. Alan Wilner of the Maryland Court of Appeals and currently serves the Law School as a coach of its ADR Team and professor of Sports and the Law. He also is the producer of the online newsletter, “The Maryland Procurement Alert.”  Married to television journalist Deborah Weiner, Prof. Gogel is the father of two.
