Professor King edited Daniel Webster’s Legal Papers, a three-volume work documenting the professional life of one of America’s most famous lawyers. In addition, Professor King has written several articles that explore aspects of nineteenth century American legal history. He is currently working on a study of pew ownership in the nineteenth century and other subjects in American religious history.

Before joining the faculty in 1979 Professor King served in the United States Army and as a field attorney with the National Labor Relations Board.
