Bio

Megan Young is member of the Class of 2024 at the University of Maryland School of Law. She is a Baltimore native and graduate of East Stroudsburg University Class of 2021. Young earned her B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Finance, as well as minors in Economics and Philosophy. Throughout her undergraduate experience, Young interned at the Office of Hearings for the Maryland Insurance Administration and worked as a Philosophy and Economics tutor for her university’s tutorial program. She spent her summer prior to law school gaining experience as an intern at Akman & Associates, LLC. She worked alongside attorneys assisting with cases in the areas of estate planning, real estate, family law, and bankruptcy.  

Since joining the University of Maryland community, Young has enrolled in the Business Law Track with a strong interest in pursuing bankruptcy, intellectual property, and antitrust. She spent her 1L summer as a judicial intern for The Honorable Michelle M. Harner at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland. She assisted the chambers by completing legal research, attending proceedings, and writing legal memoranda. Outside the classroom, Young is a staff editor for Maryland Law Review, as well as a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and Business Law Society.
