The 2025-26 academic year brings with it some exciting faculty changes, including the retirement of longtime instructor Nathan Robertson ‘12, and the exciting addition of Whitney Levandusky ‘14, a distinguished alumna, who joins the faculty bringing valuable practice experience and fresh perspective to our program.

Managing Director of the Intellectual Property Program, Heather Terech, commented, "Transitions can be bittersweet—we're grateful for those who have served these roles with distinction, and we're energized by the talented professionals who now join us to shape the future."

For years, the Copyright Law course has been synonymous with Nathan Robertson, but with his recent retirement, the opportunity opened for Levandusky a Supervisory Copyright Claims Attorney for the Copyright Claims Board of the US Copyright Office, to return to Maryland Carey Law in a new role.

Clinic Instructor Oliver Edwards will teach all sections of the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic while Director and Professor Patricia Campbell spends the 2025-26 academic year as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical Law at The George Washington University Law School.

Kaitlin Corey and Jim Astrachan will be co-teaching the Trademark and Unfair Competition course. As seasoned attorneys, the pair will bring an exciting energy to the classroom while continuing to uphold the high academic standards of Maryland Carey Law. A nationally recognized speaker and seasoned litigator, Professor Astrachan is Senior Counsel at Corey Tepe LLC. Teaching since 1979, he brings decades of experience and deep insight into intellectual property law. Professor Corey, a partner at Corey Tepe, LLP, offers a wealth of practical knowledge in business transactions, corporate formation, IP litigation, and licensing. In addition to her legal practice, she is deeply involved in the legal and tech communities, serving on multiple boards and authoring influential articles on intellectual property and digital law. Together, Professors Astrachan and Corey bring unparalleled expertise that will greatly enrich our students’ learning experience.

Ed Yee ‘98 will continue to instruct the Intellectual Property Law Survey course.  As a clinic instructor for years, he now shares his experience with the students in the foundational course.  The Intellectual Property Law program welcomes the new faculty and wishes Professor Robertson a well-deserved retirement.
