Who I was then:
I graduated from the American University in May of 2017 with a degree in international studies with a minor in public health.
Amazing law school class:
I really loved Women in Leadership with Paula Monopoli and my Health Law Clinic with Kathleen Hoke. In all, the courses were great not just for the material, but for the professors who made themselves available, engaging and fun.
Outside class:
I was a member of the National Trial Team, President of the Black Law Students Association from 2018-2019, a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Department and a member of the United Students of African Descent which was a UMB-wide organization that allowed for me to meet students from other schools in the university system.
Favorite outing/activity to unwind:
Dinner at one of the great restaurants in Baltimore or attending an O’s game with friends.
Noteworthy summer job:
My 2L summer I had the opportunity to work with some of the leading health law minds in the US at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law.
What’s next:
I will be clerking on the Maryland Court of Special Appeals for the Honorable Judge Douglas Nazarian.
Who am I now:
I am able to go into the next phase of life confident in my ability to articulate my thoughts and advocate for myself and clients in a manner that appreciates the realities of the world around me. Maryland has allowed for me to learn what attorney I want to be an not just to emulate the style of those around me.

Maryland Carey Law is a small community and each student has the opportunity to meet most of the people that make up this community. I would encourage every student to meet these remarkable and passionate people. This is an invaluable resource, not just to expand your network, but to learn from people with vastly different backgrounds and to forge lifelong friendships.
