Celebrating the Future of IP: The Maryland Carey Law Class of 2022

All News

The Maryland Carey Law Class of 2022 has overcome unimaginable hurdles given the chaotic global events of the last two years. As an entering class in the Fall of 2019, their law school careers were significantly interrupted by the shutdown of the world as we know it in March of 2020. Forced into a virtual law school environment for nearly three semesters, this group of students had a wildly different experience from those attorneys who came before them. Despite those hurdles, the IP Track graduating students have a very bright future.

With eleven graduating track students, the field of IP law is gaining an exceptional group of well-educated, skilled practitioners. These promising future attorneys possess diligence, aspiration, and an incredible work ethic, and we are confident they will be a boon to the IP community.

Two graduates, Alyssa Radovanovich and Dana Molk will be joining the firm Young Conaway Stargatt &Taylor, LLP. Laura Stewart will continue working with Becton, Dickinson and Company, and Jennifer Nigro will continue working with DeCaro, Doran, Siciliano, Gallagher & DeBlasis, LLP.  Karina Calliste will also be remaining at Fish and Richardson P.C., while Anne Rocke will be taking on a new adventure at Haug Partners in New York.   Graduates Laura Davies, Noah Kanary, Adam Kohen, and Jordan Kuchta are also looking forward to careers in the law, and we are sure they will continue to excel.

The IP track was established to facilitate innovative teaching, practical experience, scholarship, and research with a focus on intellectual property law. Graduate Evan Tassis, who is working with Jones Day, explains how the IP Track assisted his legal skill development: “I gained a great knowledge of patent law through the courses I took which included IP Survey, Patent Law, Patent Litigation, and Patent Drafting. I know how to draft a patent from scratch, and I understand patent infringement cases and what topics frequently arise in arguments.”

A track reception was held on May 18, 2022, where graduates received their letters of completion. All track students also received a glass cube to recognize their dedication to the IP law field as they begin their careers. We wish our graduates the best and brightest of futures.  Congratulations Class of 2022!
