Event Description:
The panel will feature Dr. Tiffany Crutcher, Founder & Executive Director of the Terence Crutcher Foundation (TCF) and staff members. TCF’s mission is to create just and liberated communities free from violence and harm through policy advocacy, grassroots organizing, and honoring the legacy of Black Wall Street at the local, state, and national levels.
The panel discussion will inform local and statewide efforts in Maryland to advance public safety and police accountability and reparations for the descendants of Black enslaved people.

- Still Rising 10 Years After Freddie Gray’s Death: On April 11, 2025, the Gibson-Banks Center for Race and the Law and the Campaign for Justice Safety and Jobs held an event commemorating the 10th anniversary of the police-involved death of Freddie Gray.

- Expecting Inequity: Race, Class, and Reproductive Justice: On November 14, 2024, the Gibson-Banks Center and the Law & Health Care Program at University of Maryland Carey law hosted Khiara M. Bridges, Professor of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law as a distinguished speaker in the 2024/25 Rothenberg Speaker Series.
- Addressing Mass Incarceration in Maryland: In September 2024, the Center hosted an anchor event featuring Natasha Dartigue, Maryland’s Public Defender, and Anthony Brown, Maryland’s Attorney General. You may view the video here.
