Advanced Legal Research: Intellectual Property Law

Course Description

This course will focus on advanced legal research methodologies and strategies within the context of federal and state intellectual property law. It includes coverage of legislation and legislative history, regulations and regulatory history, agency decisions and websites, treatises, electronic databases, practice materials, and strategies for ensuring comprehensive research. A substantial portion of the grade will consist of performance on a final research project involving an assigned topic. This course satisfies the Advanced Legal Research requirement and is not available to students who have already taken one of the Advanced Legal Research courses.
