The Environmental Law Program sent two teams to the West Virginia Energy Moot Court Competition

All News

This was the first in-person moot court competition the Environmental Law Program has done since pre-Covid times. Both teams represented UMD Carey Law well, with one team advancing out of the preliminaries but losing to Yale in a close match. Special thanks to Judge Douglas Nazarian who did a moot with our teams and provided a mini lecture on energy markets, including Hughes v. Talen Energy, a Supreme Court case that arose out of Judge Nazarian's energy work at the Maryland Public Service Commission prior to his judicial appointment.
