School of Law welcomes new entering class

The School of Law welcomes 229 new students in the day program and 29 in the evening program, a total of 258 new members of the 2005 entering class!

These students represent 28 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and countries as diverse as Canada, El Salvador, Estonia, British Columbia, Liberia and Taiwan. Twenty- five students were born outside of the United States and thirty-four percent identified themselves as persons of color. The students range in age from 20 to 52 and represent 128 undergraduate institutions. 35 members earned graduate degrees in other disciplines prior to enrolling in law school.

The class includes medical doctors, web designers, a playwright, engineers, business executives, a college professor, a pharmacist, a mathematician who happens to be a dancer and choreographer, an ESL teacher, and a former NCAA varsity basketball player. They were selected from 4200 applicants.

Each of these students is poised to become an exceptional lawyer. We welcome them to our community and wish them great success.
