Support UMDLaw Before Our Fiscal Year Ends on June 30
Earlier this year, we learned an important lesson about how much our clinics mean to people in Maryland and beyond. When the
General Assembly debated the role of our Environmental Clinic, leaders in the legal profession and at law schools across the country rallied in support. Their actions helped preserve the Clinical Law Program’s ability to provide effective representation to clients that would otherwise lack access to justice.
Just a few examples of the Clinic's many accomplishments this year include:
•
Fulfilling dreams in Baltimore—providing vital free legal services for Baltimore city children to
start a new youth center.
•
Helping MD communities—
preventing construction of a landfill in the center of a Harford County community.
•
Protecting the Chesapeake—helping to
tighten enforcement of water pollution laws that affect our Bay.
•
Advancing justice around the world—taking on human rights issues in Africa, Mexico and China through the
International and Comparative Law Clinic.
Your support is vital to the ongoing efforts of our clinics. Before we close the books on our 2010 budget year,
please make a gift before June 30.
Gifts received by June 30 will be recognized in the Fall 2010 edition of JD magazine.
