Resources and Information for Incoming First-Year Students
To members of the Fall 2009 incoming class:
Congratulations and welcome to the University of Maryland School of Law!
We are eager to have you join us and look forward to the leadership and scholarship that your class will contribute – both to the law school community and to the legal profession. You will undoubtedly find law school to be one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your life. You can expect not only to receive a top-notch legal education at Maryland but also to benefit from the guidance and support of administration and faculty members who want to see you succeed. It is our hope that through a combination of classroom instruction and experiential learning, you will graduate with the confidence and professional judgment to become highly skilled attorneys.
We have prepared a Blackboard page
specifically to orient and introduce you to the law school as well as to the larger University of Maryland, Baltimore campus and the city of Baltimore.
We hope that you will find the site helpful and encourage you to check it often as we update it in the coming months with information from the Offices of Registration and Enrollment, Student Affairs and other departments of the law school. We will include information about social events for incoming students, course enrollment, the laptop program, orientation, housing, parking and other pertinent information. The site will also have a chat room feature to allow you to communicate with one another and with your 2L and 3L peer advisors.
Shortly after your initial seat deposit is paid you will receive an email from our Office of Information Technology with login instructions to give you access to Blackboard. Please contact the
if you have trouble logging in to the site. We are here to serve you. Please continue to check in with us during the coming months.
