Beth A. Wilkinson, Fannie Mae’s executive vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, will deliver keynote remarks at the School of Law’s May 16 Hooding Ceremony at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. As principal legal counsel to the company’s Board of Directors and senior executives, Wilkinson sets Fannie Mae’s legal agenda, addresses critical legal issues and has oversight and management responsibility for all legal strategies, services, and resources.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Wilkinson was a partner and co-chair of the White Collar Practice Group for the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins, LLP. Before joining Latham, Wilkinson served as special counsel to the deputy U.S. Attorney General. During her tenure at the Department of Justice, Wilkinson was appointed principal deputy of the Terrorism & Violent Crime Section and a prosecutor on the trial team in U.S. v. McVeigh and Nichols.
Wilkinson served in the United States Army as an assistant to the general counsel of the Army for Intelligence & Special Operations. While in that position she was selected to serve as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida to assist in the U.S. v. Noriega case. Wilkinson joined the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. Wilkinson twice received the Attorney General’s Exceptional Service Award, the only two time recipient in the history of the Department of Justice.

Tickets are required for this event. Each graduating student who completes and returns the Ticket RSVP form on time will be eligible for up to seven tickets. Tickets that are not claimed by May 9th will be reallocated to other graduates.
Graduates are to arrive at Meyerhoff Symphony Hall no later than 10:15 a.m. for marshaling. Lobby doors open at 10:45 a.m. and the ceremony begins promptly at 11 a.m.
