Helen Norton testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary’s "Civil Rights Division Oversight"
hearing on June 21.
The hearing, chaired by School of Law alumnus
Senator Benjamin Cardin ‘67, explored changes that have taken place in the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department under Attorney General Gonzales. Senator Cardin was assisted by legislative counsel William Van Horne ’99 and current
Asper Fellow Nicholas Blendy ’08.
Other witnesses included Assistant Attorney General Wan Kim and Wade Henderson, President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.
