15 Alumni Win “Leadership in Law” Awards
Fifteen alumni of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law were among the 38 attorneys to win a 2016 Leadership in Law Award from The Daily Record, the Baltimore news organization that covers the legal and business communities in the city.
The Leadership in Law Award is given annually to lawyers who “devote time, talent and energy to bettering the legal profession in addition to the communities in which they live and work,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. Honorees also demonstrate a commitment to pro bono work and to mentoring, she added.
The Daily Recorded introduced two new categories to the award this year: the Generation J.D., for younger lawyers, and a Lifetime Achievement award. The 38 honorees will vote to select the top winner of the award, who will be announced May 5 at a ceremony in Annapolis.
