The Maryland Carey Law community is saddened by the passing of its friend, Retired Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Edgar P. Silver, who died Tuesday, November 11 at Sinai Hospital after a brief illness. He was 91.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 13 at Sol Levinson & Bros., 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville.
Mr. Alan M. Rifkin ’82, co-founder of Rifkin, Weiner, Livingston, Levitan & Silver LLC and friend of Judge Silver, shared with the Baltimore Sun, "He was singularly the most extraordinary man I've ever met. He was irrepressibly optimistic."
In 2008, Mr. Rifkin established a scholarship fund in honor of Judge Silver to support second and third year law students who have expressed an interest in law and public policy at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. Those interested in making a gift in Judge Silver’s memory, please direct it to the Rifkin, Weiner, Livingston, Levitan & Silver, LLC/Edgar P. Silver Scholarship.
