Deciding which law school to attend is a task fraught with competing factors: faculty reputation; location; cost; experience; specialty program strength; and alumni network – just to name a few. That’s why Maryland Carey Law opens its doors and classrooms every year to help make the decision as easy as possible.
“We believe transparency is key to communicating the benefit of a Maryland Carey Law degree,” notes Katrin Hussmann Schroll, director of admissions. “We want prospective students to explore our school and experience the collegial and collaborative community that makes us unique.”
As part of their Visit Maryland Program, the admissions office offers a variety of ways for prospective students to explore the school, including open houses, law school preview days, chat sessions, class visits, and tours.
Selected first-year day classes are open to visitors Monday through Friday this fall from Tuesday, September 2 to Friday, November 21. Prospective students will sit in on a real class, experiencing the culture in the classrooms and the scholarship of our faculty.

TOURS OF THE LAW SCHOOL:
During the fall of 2014, student-led tours of the law school will be offered weekly from Tuesday, September 2 to Friday, November 21, 12:15 – 1:00 p.m., excluding weekends and holidays.
For prospective students who are unable to visit Maryland Carey Law in person, the Office of Admissions offers online chat sessions. No registration is required for these events. To view dates and times of upcoming chat sessions visit http://www.law.umaryland.edu/prospective/admitchat.html
Open Houses feature current law students from a variety of backgrounds discussing student life at Maryland as well as faculty members discussing the law school curriculum and academic programs. In addition, students will have the opportunity to tour the law school building and meet with representatives from the Office of Admissions, financial aid, UM housing, and more over lunch.
LAW SCHOOL PREVIEW DAYS:
Law School Preview Days offer the opportunity to experience law school by sitting in a first-year class, take a student-led tour, and attend an information session with a representative from the Office of Admissions, faculty member and/or current students.
Information sessions are led by a representative from the Office of Admissions and focus on the application process, requirements, procedures, and financial aid considerations.
For more information about any of these events, and for any other inquiries, please contact the Office of Admissions at email@example.com or 410.706.3492. Additional information is also available on the Prospective Students website.
