UM Carey Law Professor Michelle Harner, director of the Business Law Program, won the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Judge Wes Steen ABI Law Review Writing Prize for “Activist Investors, Distressed Companies, and Value Uncertainty,” an article published in the 2014 edition of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review.
The article, co-authored with University of Michigan Senior Research Associate Jamie Marincic Griffin and UM Carey Law Fellow Jennifer Ivey-Crickenberger ‘12, addresses the role played by hedge funds, private equity firms and other funds in Chapter 11 corporate restructurings.
The prize was presented at the ABI Annual Meeting on April 26.
