Dean Donald B. Tobin and 11 alumni from Maryland Carey Law were among the 27 attorneys who received the 2015 Leadership in Law Award from The Daily Record. Recipients were chosen for their career accomplishments, community involvement and mentoring activities.
The awardees will be honored November 19 with a reception and dinner at the BWI Hilton. The Daily Record covers greater Baltimore’s legal and business communities.
Tobin joined the Maryland Carey Law faculty in July 2014, when he was appointed dean. One of the nation’s leading experts on the intersection of tax and campaign finance laws, he had served as associate dean for academic affairs and associate dean for faculty at Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law, where he was the John C. Elam/Vorys Sater Professor of Law. He’s a native of Maryland, who began his career on the professional staff of former Senator Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.). Tobin graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Georgetown Law Center.
