Dean Phoebe Haddon has been voted one of the 25 most influential people in legal education, as the result of an awards process conducted by The National Jurist.
The magazine solicited nominations from every law school in the country, received more than 85, narrowed the list down to 50 and then asked 350 people involved in legal education, including every law school dean, to rate each nominee based on how much they had been influenced by him or her within the last year.
"Many people see current legal education in crisis," Haddon told the magazine in a story profiling all the winners. "But I see it as an opportunity to really think about what the future of legal education ought to be and to capture the imagination of our alums, students and faculty."
In addition to Dean Haddon, the final list includes the law school deans of Georgetown, Duke, UC Hastings College of Law, UC Davis and UC Irvine plus law school faculty members William Henderson of Indiana University and Richard Sander of UCLA.
