As each year passes the digital world faces on a worldwide basis ever increasing devastating activity by cyber criminals. Therefore lawyers who have mastered the world of cybercrime, which is a state, federal and international issue, are in ever increasing demand in both the private and public sector. This course will explore the many legal, regulatory, and policy issues pertaining to cybercrime under international, federal and state law. Cybercrime will be defined, and the complex methodologies used cyber criminals will be examined. The course will also provide students with practical strategies being deployed by governments worldwide and the private sector to prevent and respond to cybercrime. Student grades will be based on class participation and an analytical paper addressing an issue discussed in the course.
