Jason Hawkins joined the Thurgood Marshall Law Library in 2011 as a research librarian, and became the Head of Research Services in 2017. He received his J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law and his M.L.S. from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies. He earned his B.A. in English from Oakwood University. Prior to coming to Carey Law, he worked as a reference librarian at The George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., where he taught legal research and served as the library’s subject specialist for intellectual property law, national security law, and business and financial law.
Mr. Hawkins currently teaches Introduction to Legal Research to first-year law students, and Advanced Legal Research to second and third-year law students. He is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries and the Law Library Association of Maryland.
