Lawyers typically make many job changes throughout their careers.  Maryland Carey Law is committed to assisting its graduates in advancing their professional development to attain career success.

Career Counseling
The Career Development Office (CDO) offers counseling advice and a range of job search resources for alumni who are making career transitions.  You may schedule an appointment to speak with a CDO counselor by contacting the Office at careerdv@law.umaryland.edu or by using the appointment prompts on the UMD-Symplicity webpage at https://law-umd-csm.symplicity.com/students/.   

Symplicity Job Bank
In addition to career counseling, the CDO offers alumni access to its online Symplicity Job Bank to search for employment opportunities.  To obtain a Symplicity password, please e-mail the CDO and include your full name, graduation year, current contact information including your updated e-mail address, telephone number and mailing address.  Once your alumni status is verified, you will receive an e-mail containing a user name (your e-mail address) and a password. 

Transcripts
Unofficial and official transcripts are available through SURFS.

Library Services for Graduates
The Alumni Borrowing service entitles the user to borrow circulating materials from the Thurgood Marshall Law Library.

Conferences and Workshops
The law school hosts dozens of conferences and workshops each year, bringing together top legal scholars and practitioners from across the country to share insight and analyze recent developments in a wide range of areas. Our graduates are welcome at all of these events. See upcoming events.

Legal Journals
The law school is home to four scholarly journals covering a diverse array of content areas pertinent to legal professionals. The journals welcome alumni subscriptions.
