Westminster Burying Ground & Catacombs

The Burying Grounds are open to the public daily during daylight hours (8 a.m. - dusk).  Plaques are set up throughout the Burying Grounds that explain the history of the Grounds and tell the biographies of many of the people buried here.  The outside Burying Grounds are free of charge.  The Catacombs and Westminster Hall are only available to see with a tour guide.

Public guided tours are offered on the 1st and 3rd consecutive Friday (at 6:30 p.m.) and Saturday (at 10 a.m.) of each month April - November, if enough people sign up.  Reservations are required and a total of at least 15 people need to be signed up in order to run the tour. Fees are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children (12 and under) and seniors (60 and up).

Private tours can be scheduled at other times for any size group.  This must be done in advance and a deposit is required at least 2 weeks prior to the tour date.  Prices for private tours vary depending on when the tour is held.

Tours last approximately 1 hour and include the Burying Grounds, Catacombs, Westminster Hall (if available), and a fifteen minute film on the history of the Grounds, some of the famous people buried here, and their relationship with Baltimore.  Tours can be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., pending tour guide and date availability.

The Annual Halloween Tour is scheduled for October 31 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  featuring continuous tours of the Hall, Catacombs, and Burying Ground.  No reservations are required.  Please look for exciting updates as Halloween draws near!
