Passwords

The Law School Office of Technology is working with the UMB Campus to unify the passwords for various campus systems. In the meantime, however, most systems have unique password systems.

Blackboard

Your Blackboard username is your UMnet ID. If your UMnet email address is astud001@umaryland.edu, your UMnet ID is astud001.

Your password is not necessarily the same as your UMnet password. If you need help with your Blackboard password, please contact:

SURFS

Your SURFS username is your Student ID Number, your "@" number, e.g @00000001

Your SURFS password (or "PIN") is a six-character password. For help logging into SURFS, please contact:

E-mail

Your E-Mail username is your UMnet ID. If your UMnet email address is astud001@umaryland.edu, your UMnet ID is astud001.

The Campus Help Desk manages e-mail login problems.

Library & TAL Computers

The password for library and lab computers changes each semester. Ask an attendant in the TAL center or at the library desk for assistance.

Remote Access to Research Databases

You can use subscription research databases such as HeinOnline, Academic Search Premier, and many others from home. Visit the Thurgood Marshall Law Library website and select "Databases."

Student ID Number (your "@" number, e.g. @00000001)
OneCard number (14 digit nyumber on the back of your ID card, e.g. 22001100000001)
Your alias, a username you select.

Each Law School affiliate is issued a personal login and password for Lexis and Westlaw. For help with those passwords, contact
