All full-time day students, except for those obtaining a waiver, are required to have and will be billed for health insurance. Evening and part-time day students are eligible for campus health insurance but are not required to have it.
If you wish to waive annual coverage, you must submit proof of comparable coverage to the Campus Health Office, 29 S. Paca Street. If a waiver is granted based on a determination that a student has comparable coverage, the waiver forms must be submitted to the Students Accounts Office and must be submitted no later than the date published in the Academic Calendar even if your bill has not been paid due to financial aid delays.
A waiver request form must be completed every fall semester.
You will be billed for health insurance in each semester provided you maintain your full time enrollment. Should your enrollment change to part time, you are still eligible for insurance but you must notify Student Accounts, (410) 706- 2930, of your desire to do so.
If you wish to change your coverage or add UMB health insurance for the spring after having had it waived for fall, contact Nicole Frazier, Student Accounts Office, HS/HSL, 601 W. Lombard Street, Suite 206 (410)706-2930.
For the spring semester it is not necessary to file a waiver request for the health insurance unless you wish to drop the UMB health insurance plan which you had during the fall semester. If you wish to drop the plan, contact the Campus Health Office, 29 S. Paca Street, or at (410)328-6791. After the waiver has been granted by the Campus Health Office, you must take the form to the Student Accounts Office.
