Except as noted below add/drop will be primarily online on a first come/first serve basis. (See Academic Calendar for appropriate dates).
Courses oversubscribed during the advance registration process may be dropped online, but may not be added online unless and until a sufficient number of students drop the course to permit all students on the waiting list to have had an opportunity to add. If the waiting list "disappears" in this fashion, all students will be notified by email that the course may be added on a first come/first serve basis through the online process. Students on the waiting list for seminar and simulation courses are encouraged to attend the first class meetings.
After advance registration is completed, Students who wish to add or drop a Clinic or Legal Theory & Practice course anytime after the Clinic or LTP add/drop deadline may do so only under unusual circumstances and with written faculty approval (or, in the absence of the faculty member, the approval of the Director or Managing Director of the Clinical Law Program) on the paper Change in Registration Request (Add/Drop) Form. Once the form is completed and signed by the course instructor, the student must provide a copy to the Office of Registration & Enrollment and to the Managing Director, Clinical Law Program.
Paper add/drop is a requirement for students who drop classes after the tuition billing date (the day prior to the first day of the semester) when those drops will reduce their credit hours from flat fee to per credit hour (full time day students who drop below 9 credits and evening and part-time day students who drop below 7 credits) or for students who are already being billed by the credit hour and who drop credits. Students who add credits will be recognized by the on line system and billed at the appropriate higher rate.
A student may not add or drop a course after each deadline except by permission from the Office of Registration & Enrollment, and in a seminar, simulation or clinic, the instructor. Students who later are permitted to drop a course will have a W (Withdrawal) recorded on their grade record.
