All incoming students are required to attend orientation (one evening and two days for day students; two evenings for evening students; one evening and one or two days for transfer and visiting students) prior to the commencement of classes. This program is designed to help new students become familiar with the nature and format of law school. New students will meet faculty, staff and upper class students who will help guide them during the first year law school experience. Incoming students will have an opportunity to learn how to read and brief a case, experience a sample Socratic class, and meet with small section classmates and peer advisors. There will be an introduction to the Honor Code, which governs student conduct while enrolled in law school. Orientation also allows students a chance to receive identification cards, register for e-mail and obtain library privileges.
