Real Estate Association (REA)
Founded in 2004, the University of Maryland School of Law Real Estate Association (REA) is a student-run organization which seeks to provide:
- An informal forum for students interested in real estate to exchange ideas and share experiences
- Formal programs related to real estate which will assist participants in pursing professional careers in real estate
- Opportunities for students to interact with practicing real estate attorneys.
In order to accomplish its mission, the REA works closely with the Maryland Bar Association Real Property Planning and Zoning section, as well as local, regional and national law firms. One of the REA’s most popular activities is its annual mentor program, through which students are partnered with practicing real estate attorneys. Additionally, the REA assists in editing Ground Rules, the Maryland Bar Association Real Property Planning and Zoning section’s publication.
