The purpose of the Leadership in Public Service program is to celebrate and support University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law students in public interest community. UM Carey Law students from the Maryland Public Interest Law Project, Inc. and Maryland Carey Service Corps serve as leaders in promoting to the law school community both service and pro bono opportunities. Our law students involvement in service and pro bono continues to instill a desire as future leaders in the legal profession to make a real difference in their communities.
Community Service & Pro Bono: MPILP and MCSC student leaders aspire to encourage law students to volunteer time to service and pro bono opportunities. Also, MPILP students encourage donations to the Maryland Public Interest Law Project’s summer public interest grants program. For more information about MPILP, please visit the following MPILP page.
