Title: Policy Analyst for Health Innovation Division of Science and Innovation Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Position: Maya Uppaluru manages the Division's Innovation Exchange programming to build partnerships and facilitate information sharing between the health IT innovation community (startups, developers, venture capitalists, scientists, and researchers) and federal regulators. Before joining the ONC, Maya was an attorney-adviser at the Federal Communications Commission serving on Chairman Genachowski's public-private initiatives team, supporting National Broadband Plan goals for affordable broadband access, mobile health, and digital education. Maya later joined the FCC’s Rural Health Care team to work on legal issues relating to the 2012 Healthcare Connect Fund. While in law school, Maya interned at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, focusing on global health affairs and supporting the PCAST federal advisory committee. Maya graduated with honors from University of Maryland School of Law in 2011 and from University of California at Irvine in 2007.
