Through LEAD's innovative curriculum and projects, law students and legal professionals will have the opportunity to develop their leadership potential, examine their moral values and learn the skills to use the law to improve lives, here in the United States and around the world.
LEAD is a timely initiative. In 2007, the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching challenged the country's law schools to change the ways in which they teach to focus more on developing students' ethical and social skills.
With one of the best clinical law programs in the country, the School of Law is ahead of the curve in responding to the Carnegie Foundation's concerns. LEAD will help the School of Law take the next steps by developing nationally distinctive ethics and leadership curricula and expanding and diversifying its Clinical Law Program.
