Initiatives
Federal Regulation of Probiotics
A team of researchers at the University of Maryland Baltimore is studying federal regulation of probiotics under a grant from NIH's Human Microbiome Project (HMP).
Assisted Outpatient Treatment
The University of Maryland School of Law’s Center for Dispute Resolution and the Law & Health Care Program have joined with the University of Maryland’s Schools of Social Work and Medicine to study and make recommendations regarding assisted outpatient therapy. A conference entitled “Balancing Individual Liberties and Public Health: Exploring New Options in Outpatient Treatment” was held at the law school on April 25, 2011 and a follow up meeting will take place on June 1, 2011. By invitation only.
Speaker Series
In 2010-11 the Law & Health Care Program is pleased to host a Speaker Series on Health Care Reform to highlight four critical aspects of the recent health care reform legislation.
