On Saturday, October 21, WISE (Women Indivisible Strong Effective) and several other several grassroots organizations in Maryland hosted the Environmental Action Response Town Hall (EARTH) in Annapolis. EARTH drew nearly 200 people to connect with environmental advocacy groups and state legislators committed to addressing critical environmental issues. Professor Seema Kakade was a keynote speaker at EARTH, along with U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, and Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh. Ben Grumbles, Secretary for the Maryland Department of Environment was a guest speaker. Jennifer Haber, an alum of University Maryland Carey School of Law, did a terrific job as one of the key organizers of EARTH.
