On Friday March 18th, 2011 the University of Maryland Environmental Law Program will present the 2011 Fedder Lecture and Dinner in conjunction with the program's hosting of the International Finals of the Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition.
The 2011 Fedder Lecture was delivered jointly by George (“Rock”) W. Pring, Professor of Law at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law, and Catherine (“Kitty”) G. Pring, Principal of ReSolution Resources, LLC . The Prings are the world's leading experts on specialized environmental courts and tribunals. More than 350 specialized environmental courts and tribunals have been established in 41 countries and many more will be launched soon. The Prings's groundbreaking book Greening Justice: Creating and Improving Environmental Courts and Tribunals traces the explosive growth of these bodies and assesses their prospects for improving global environmental protection. The Pring's lecture discussed these developments and their implications for the future of global environmental law.
