The JustAdvice® Project

Welcome to the JustAdvice® Project

The JustAdvice® Project sessions have concluded for this semester and will resume in late August. Please contact us then to schedule an appointment.

What is the JustAdvice® Project ?

A project of the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Clinical Program, the JustAdvice® Project provides free legal consultation to Maryland residents. The program began operating in June 2009 and was restricted and relaunched in April 2010 into its current form. Since its creation in 2009, the JustAdvice® Project has served over 2,600 individuals providing legal advice on a broad range of legal issues including family law, housing, employment, expungement, insurance, elder law, tax, civil, and social security. The program’s goal is to increase access to justice within the Baltimore community by providing a free alternative for individuals in need of legal advice who do not qualify for Legal Aid, but may not have the resources to hire a private attorney.

What Does the JustAdvice® Project Do?

The JustAdvice® Project hosts two three-hour sessions each week at various locations. Customers receive up to 30 minutes with an experienced attorney to discuss their legal issue. During this meeting, customers can gain a better understanding of the legal issues they face and receive advice on how to proceed in order to resolve those issues. The JustAdvice® Project will assist with family law, housing, employment, expungement, insurance, SSI, tax, elder law cases. Besides providing legal advice, the JustAdvice® Project can also help with expungement of court records for only the cost of court filings.

What If I want to Schedule an Appointment?

The JustAdvice® Project sessions resume in late August 2017. Please contact us then to schedule an appointment.
