The C-DRUM and the Maryland Legal Assistance Network (MLAN) are partnering with the Maryland Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO) to sponsor a searchable, on-line Directory of Alternative Dispute Resolution Practitioners. The Directory will be open to the public on the Peoples Law Library (PLL) website (www.peoples-law.org). PLL is a legal information and legal self-help website sponsored by a broad range of nonprofit legal services providers. It serves as the portal site to the legal services resources in Maryland. The Directory will provide the public with information on mediation and tools to select a mediator. The listing is free and provides an opportunity to create a full profile of your practice. You may list yourself in one or more of 5 areas:
All applicants for the list are screened by staff at the University of Maryland School of Law's Center for Dispute Resolution based on the criteria described on the other side of this page. A pro bono panel is also being formed - We encourage all mediator or arbitrator directory applicants to join the pro bono panel. The panel will be operated in conjunction with the legal services providers in the state. Members of the public will be screened before referrals are made. How do I apply? You can go directly to the private section of the Peoples Law Library - http://adr.peoples-law.org. You enter your information directly into the system. C-DRUM staff will review the information before your profile is posted to the system. Roger Wolf will contact applicants directly if any questions arise. When will the Directory be open to the public? The website is an active one and is being heavily promoted. We receive nearly 4,000 different visitors per week. The Directory will be added to the Mediation section once we reach a "critical mass" of ADR practitioner entries. We estimate that we will reach that point in late May. The Directory will be added to the Mediation section of the website that is open to the public. Can I write an article for the public to be put on the website?Yes - we are actively seeking mediators willing to write brief articles or tips on various aspects of the mediation process as part of the educational mission of the PLL website. Contact Roger Wolf (C-DRUM) 410-706-3836 or Ayn Crawley (MLAN) 410-576-9494 ext. 1012. You name and practice can be listed with a link to a website if you have one. PLL does not allow advertisements but we do attribute information posted on the website to the authors and provide basic contact information.
