October is Conflict Resolution month!
In honor of conflict resolution month, C-DRUM is partnering with the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution to promote public awareness of mediation and conflict resolution skills in schools.
Throughout October C-DRUM is encouraging all schools to conduct at least one conflict resolution-related activity with students, teachers, and/or parents. We encourage you to be creative and to highlight some of the wonderful initiatives that take place at your schools every day. This may include demonstrating a peer mediation or classroom circle, conducting a conflict resolution lesson, hosting an art contest, providing de-escalation tips in your newsletter, etc. To support this effort C-DRUM has gathered a list of on-line resources complete with ideas for lessons and activities. Consider this as a springboard to incorporate one lesson into your teaching. Let it be the beginning of a consistent effort to incorporate social emotional learning into your teaching.
