Hippodrome Theatre
Please join us for a special School of Law event in conjunction with a performance of the critically acclaimed, award-winning play DOUBT at the Hippodrome Theatre. First enjoy a bistro-style dinner with wine in Westminster Hall as a panel of experts discusses the nature of doubt from both legal and psychological perspectives. Tony award-winner Cherry Jones is recreating her role as Sister Aloysius in the national tour of DOUBT, one of BroadwayÕs most honored plays. Set against the backdrop of a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, the play examines the line between gossip and truth, discipline and compassion, certainty and doubt. It is also the story of a strong-minded woman faced with a difficult decision. Should she voice concerns about one of her male colleagues . . . even if she's not entirely certain of the truth?
This Program is supported by a generous grant from the France-Merrick Foundation to the University of Maryland School of Law's Linking Law & the Arts aeries.
