Secondary source material (practice manuals, journals and books and treatises) can provide an introduction to trial practice fundamentals and explanatory materials to assist with interpretation of court rules.
For specific federal and local court rules of practice, procedure, and evidence, consult primary law materials (the appropriate federal or state rules and codes).
Search for a topic in LegalTrac and Index to Legal Periodicals & Books to find journal articles.

Most print journals are shelved on level 1 of the library, in alphabetical order by journal title. To find out if the library has a particular journal title in electronic format, use the e-journals link on the Library web page or ask a librarian for help.
The following journals focus specifically on trial practice and procedure. Some of them may have full text online; all are available in print at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library. Click the "Find It" link to check for online availability and/or do a catalog search for the journal.
