Using Blackboard

Blackboard, the School of Law's course management system, allows instructors to create online collaborative learning environments. Instructors can readily deliver course materials; communicate and collaborate with students via email, discussion boards, blogs, wikis, journals, and online chat; receive papers and other student assignments; and administer online tests and surveys,
and video too.

All courses taught at the School of Law have a corresponding online course on Blackboard. Student enrollment into a Blackboard course is directly linked to the the student registration system and is updated nightly.

The Academic Technology Department offers a variety of support services for Blackboard. Documentation on Blackboard basic features is provided online, and group training sessions are offered throughout the year. Instructors may also schedule individual training sessions or one-on-one consultations for assistance with a particular Blackboard course or feature. To schedule a training session or to ask questions or provide comments, please contact

Following is a collection of support documentation designed to help instructors and course builders use Blackboard 9.1 which has a new look and new tools. As more training documentation becomes available, this website will be updated. Internet Explorer version 6 or older will no longer be supported with Blackboard 9.1.
