Using Blackboard

Blackboard, the School of Law's course management system, allows instructors to create online collaborative learning environments. Instructors can readily deliver course materials; communicate and collaborate with students via email, discussion boards, blogs, wikis, journals, and online chat; receive papers and other student assignments; and administer online tests and surveys.

All courses taught at the School of Law have a corresponding online course on Blackboard. Student enrollment into a Blackboard course is directly linked to the the student registration system and is updated nightly capturing transactions processed by 12:00 AM.

Documentation on Blackboard basic features is provided on this page. Instructors may also schedule individual training sessions or consultations for assistance with a particular Blackboard course or feature. Please contact:

Following is a collection of support documentation designed to help instructors and course builders use Blackboard 9.1 SP10 which has a new look and new tools. As more training documentation becomes available, this website will be updated. Internet Explorer version 6 or older will no longer be supported with Blackboard 9.1. View a list of supported Internet Browsers for Blackboard 9.1 SP10, our current version.
We recommend the Google Chrome Browser for Blackboard.

Blackboard's Quick Tutorials Library
Blackboard's version 9 contains a number of changes and enhancements. One of the biggest changes for School of Law faculty is that there is no longer a "Digital Dropbox" function in Blackboard 9. Instead, please use the "Assignments" tool to manage assignment submissions and grading:
