Blackboard offers two assessment tools, Surveys and Tests, which will allow you to perform a wide variety of assessment exercises such as testing and evaluating your student's understanding of certain concepts, performing opinion polls, and administering course evaluations. Depending on your goal, you can choose to allow students to record their answers anonymously (Surveys), or you can assign point values to each question for grading (Tests).
You may create a test in any content area by using the add content toolbar or drop-down menu while in the EDIT VIEW page.
You may create a survey in any content area by using the add content toolbar or drop-down menu while in the EDIT VIEW page.
Surveys are anonymous. You will see in the Gradebook whether a student has submitted a survey, but you will not be able to view their individual response.
When you add a Test to your course, it will not become available until you Modify its Options.
When you add a Survey to your course, it will not become available until you Modify its Options.
The Pool Manager allows instructors to store assessment questions for repeated use during a class. Instructors may add questions from existing assessments or create new questions.
Results of existing tests or surveys are displayed in the Gradebook.
