This project uses indices of "political influence" to measure the extent to which the Baltimore Chinese community has become assimilated into the greater Baltimore community. The writer concludes that while the politicians has been responsive to the Chinese community in immigration matters, overall the community’s success is very modest. Further, what little influence the community possesses with public officials largely has been due to the actions of one person, Mrs. Lillian Kim.
