Charles A. Pipins II, also known as C.J., is library liaison for the Clinical Law Office and Clinic faculty members. He teaches Introduction to Legal Research and Advanced Legal Research. As the Academic Technologies Librarian, C.J. is responsible for evaluating, implementing, and promoting technologies to support the teaching and scholarly activities of our faculty, and other members of the Maryland Carey Law community.
Prior to arriving at the Thurgood Marshall Law Library, he was a Reference Librarian at Florida Coastal School of Law. He has an M.A. in Information Resources and Library Science from The University of Arizona where he was a Law Library Fellow at the Daniel F. Cracchiolo Law Library. His J.D. is from New York Law School, and he has a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Millikin University.
C.J. is a member of local, regional, and national Law Library Associations. He has served as Secretary and President of the Law Library Association of Maryland (LLAM) and on the executive board of the Southeastern Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL). He is also a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) where he is active in the Special Interest Sections devoted to Social Responsibilities, Academic Law Libraries, and Research Instruction and Patron Services.
