
Biography
Janet Klein Brown is an Assistant Attorney General in the Health Occupations Prosecution and Litigation Division in the Office of the Attorney General. Ms. Brown prosecutes disciplinary cases before the Maryland State Board of Physicians; and, has prosecuted disciplinary cases before all of the other Maryland health care professionals' boards. Prior to prosecuting, Ms. Brown was counsel to several of the health occupations boards, including the Boards of Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Dental, Morticians, and Professional Counselors.
Upon joining the Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Brown provided counsel to the Mental Hygiene Administration of the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, including representation of Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Maryland’s forensic hospital. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Brown was an associate with Rohd and Waranch, handling malpractice defense and products liability cases.
Ms. Brown is a graduate of University of Baltimore Law School, University of Maryland School of Social Work, and Cornell University. She is admitted to the Maryland Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
